A CHILEAN LANDMARK
Hey! so taking up last week´s theme, today im going to talk about a Chilean landmark that i like it so much when i was there!
If you remember, last week i told you that i know many places of Chile, on of that parts is Iquique, we went with my whole family for my mom´s birthday, i was maybe 15 years old. But today im going to talk about a place near of Iquique, i think is not a well-known place but is a UNESCO´s World Heritage Site, also is a National monument and its calls Offices of Santiago Humberstone and Santa Laura.
This place is not to far away from Iquique city, maybe about 50 kilometers maximum. Is a very beautifull place with a lot of history, they were two saltpeters that worked separately, this towns they had several inhabitants at the time who functioned as saltpeters.
When i went with my family, it was atiring day because we had been touring various parts of the area, but when we got to the saltpeteras it was a very entertaining and interesting to get know that place, has a lot of history and the place it stays good for how old it is! One thing that´s still scary is that being an abandoned town you feel several vibes from the past.
We toured smany places inside the town such as: the theather, the school, a steel pool, the church and obviously many house interiors. Also we walked the streets and many elements of the past.
It was a very good day, i hope to come back one day.
